The Fontelina is a mottled outdoor fabric made of 100% Olefin. The fabric has a dark undertone that is alternated with a lighter overtone. At first glance, the Fontelina appears to be a fairly coarse fabric. With upholstered cushions, you will see that the fabric actually gives a calm appearance. The fabrics are also hard-wearing, colourfast so they hardly discolour and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Because the fabric is finely woven, the cushion offers a comfortable seat. Thanks to the strong fibres in the fabrics, Olefin can take a knock.
Most lounge cushions that we sell are equipped with a zipper so that the fabric can easily be washed. But usually that is not necessary because the Olefin Fontelina fabrics are easier to clean with a cloth or soft brush in combination with lukewarm water and a dishwashing detergent. Our advice here is not to use bleach. After the cushions have been cleaned, they can almost immediately be used again as the Olefin dries quickly.
Despite the fact that the Olefin fabric is waterproof, we recommend that for a longer lifespan you still bring the cushions inside or store them dry during rain and frost.
