The Fontelina is a mottled outdoor fabric made of 100% Olefin. The fabric has a dark undertone that is alternated with a lighter overtone. At first glance, the Fontelina appears to be a fairly coarse fabric. With upholstered cushions you can see that the fabric actually gives a calm appearance. The fabrics are also hard-wearing, colourfast so that they hardly discolour and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Because the fabric is finely woven, the cushion provides a comfortable seat. Due to the strong fibres in the fabrics, Olefin can take a beating.
Most lounge cushions we sell are equipped with a zipper so that the fabric can easily be washed, but this is usually not necessary because the Olefin Fontelina fabrics are easier to clean with a cloth or soft brush in combination with lukewarm water and a dishwashing detergent. Our advice here is not to use bleach. After the cushions have been cleaned, they can be used again almost immediately as the Olefin dries quickly.
Despite the fact that the Olefin fabric is waterproof, we recommend bringing the cushions inside or keeping them dry during rain and frost for a longer lifespan.
