The Fontelina is a mottled outdoor fabric made from 100% Olefin. The fabric has a dark undertone that is alternated with a lighter overtone. At first glance, the Fontelina appears to be quite a coarse fabric. With upholstered cushions you will see that the fabric actually gives a calm appearance. The fabrics are also wear-resistant, colourfast so they hardly discolour and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Because the fabric is finely woven, the cushion provides a comfortable seat. Due to the strong fibres in the fabrics, Olefin is very hard-wearing.
Most lounge cushions that we sell are equipped with a zipper so that the fabric can easily be washed, but this is usually not necessary because the Olefin Fontelina fabrics are easier to clean with a cloth or soft brush in combination with lukewarm water and a detergent. Our advice in this is not to use bleach. After the cushions have been cleaned, they can be used again almost immediately as Olefin dries quickly.
Although the Olefin fabric is waterproof, we recommend that for a longer lifespan you still bring the cushions inside or store them dry during rain and frost.
