The Fontelina is a mottled outdoor fabric made of 100% Olefin. The fabric has a dark undertone that is interspersed with a lighter overtone. At first glance, the Fontelina appears to be a fairly coarse fabric. With upholstered cushions, you can see that the fabric actually gives a calm appearance. The fabrics are also wear-resistant, colourfast so they hardly discolour, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Because the fabric is finely woven, the cushion provides comfortable seating. Due to the strong fibres in the fabrics, Olefin can withstand rough handling.
Most lounge cushions that we sell are equipped with a zipper so that the fabric can be easily washed, but usually this is not necessary because the Olefin Fontelina fabrics are easier to clean with a cloth or soft brush in combination with lukewarm water and a dishwashing detergent. Our advice here is not to use bleach. After the cushions have been cleaned, they can be used again almost immediately as the Olefin dries quickly.
Despite the fact that the Olefin fabric is waterproof, we recommend bringing the cushions inside or storing them dry in case of rain and frost for a longer lifespan.
